Google alerts not just for breaking news
I have a number of standing "Google alerts" to better keep our readership informed. Among them: Dow Chemical, Dennis Bonnen, Shaune Bagwell ... and me (since even if you're not paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not after ya.)
This one
popped up in the Inbox the other day. The dated ones serve their purpose, as they remind you of stuff our deteriorating memory would otherwise forget.

Even better than Google News alerts, you can customize the Google News sidebar to include your own search terms instead of "World," "Sports," "Scence," etc. - really useful, and doesn't fill up your email box.
