Blogrollin'

Mouth of the Brazos says it'd be real stupid to dredge the mouth of the San Bernard River.

Listen carefully. IT’S FUCKING STUPID AND USELESS, YOU FUCKING MORONS. IT WILL COST MILLIONS AND WE WILL HAVE TO DO IT EVERY YEAR OR TWO – FOR FUCKING EVER.

The Mouth is also worried about encroaching urbanization moving south from Houston.
All you Chamber of Commerce cocksuckers are going to get your wildest fantasies fulfilled, just like Pearland and Friendswood did. You’ll have every square inch of land jammed with some kind of shoddily made, tacky looking, new building in just a few years. Titty bars and Super Targets. Convenience stores and strip malls. You will fight traffic every time you go anywhere. You won’t be able to do jack shit. No more pissing off your porch. No more burning slash out back. Better add a dead bolt to all your doors.

PubliusTx has been on a rant lately against the sports prose employed by the lady sportswriters of the Houston daily.
Why inflict that nearly unreadable pap on the sports page readers?

Why?

It may have something to do with "diversity," but I could be wrong.

Off The Kuff passes along word from Pink Dome about political bloggers nominating a "Texan of the Year." I thought about nominating The Grumpy Gynecologist, but as Pink Dome is an Austin-centric blog, why bother. Dennis Bonnen anyone?

Lou Minatti, in his continuing series, compares what you can buy in California versus what you can buy in Houston real estate-wise, and keeps coming to the same conclusion -- Californians are kwazy.

My point? Perhaps the housing markets in places like Houston and Dallas and Atlanta aren't underperforming. Perhaps these markets are rational, and housing markets in places like California and Boston and Washington, DC are insanely out of whack.

IFOC is still steamed at Morgan Ensberg. I fear it's cutting into his sleep. Let it go, man, just let it go. (By the way, he's getting his DeadPool2006 together right now. He'll be requiring player participation this year with severe consequences for laggards.)

Damn, Banjo. You weren't supposed to lift quotes with bad words and all. Your place is much nicer than mine, I'm kinda surprised you did it, and you didn't have to. But it WAS nice of you. Buy you a beer at the High Five or Beck's.
