Bawk-bawk

The same contaminant that poisoned pet food (and which we suspect killed our dog Skip), has been fed to 2.5 milion broiler chickens in Indiana.

Federal health officials say they don't think the chickens pose a threat to human life because people don't eat the same thing everyday like dogs do.

This doesn't sound too reassuring.

Luckily, for the last week or so, I have been consuming a strictly vegan diet (no meat, no dairy), so I have zero fear of dying by melamine-induced kidney failure.

I think I'll be eating vegan for a good long while. We just don't seem to know a whole lot about what exactly is in the food we buy in the grocery store, whether it's for Fido or our ownselves.
