Thousands came to Lake Jackson to see the big fireworks show. How many thousands? I have no idea. At least a couple thousand. Maybe 3 or 4 thousand. There were a lot of pickup trucks, that's for damn sure. In this photo, a burst of splendor explodes over the Kelly Hawes Overpass that spans FM 2004. Just beyond the overpass is where the fireworks were set up. To the best of my knowledge, nobody got blown up or maimed in producing the Fourth of July extravaganza.
