A song about Highway 87 in TX

Highway 87 along the Bolivar Peninsula in Galveston County became the subject of song before Hurricane Ike, thanks to the song by Hayes Carll.

Parts of the highway in south Jefferson County were closed long before the last hurricane, but not the Galveston County part around Crystal Beach, where Mr. Carll apparently spent time, studiously gathering inspiration from all the debauchery (toplessness on the beach is tolerated, from what we've read, for instance.)

We're not sure what Highway 87 around Crystal Beach looks like right now, but we believe Mr. Carll oughta do a beach concert down on Bolivar this summer, maybe raise some money for hurricane relief or hurricane preparedness or just for a good time.

Everybody could get semi-naked. Maybe Girls Gone Wild would show up. Or maybe Geezers Gone Wild, since a lotta people with a lotta bark on em live in and around Bolivar, based on our observations from a long time ago.

Anyway, we are confident that the situation around Crystal Beach looks a whole lot better than the below picture, taken shortly after Ike.
