"Sports Soup" thrown down disposal

Changes continue at the Houston daily. They've dumped "Sports Soup," one of its vast stable of blogs/columns.

In his sayonara, Steve Campbell writes:

I'd hoped to have a longer run than Bill Peterson had as the Oilers coach or Jimy Williams had making manager's decisions for the Astros. I envisioned this day coming after I'd cashed the winning check in a United Kingdom internet lottery or some mysterious-but-well-connected Nigerian benefactor had put $18 million in my bank account.

But this is one time I don't get to write the ending to my story.

At least he still has a job. He'll be doing general assignments.
