Laid-off Chron blogger quickly lands job

Julie Mason, who wrote the Inside the Beltway blog for the Houston daily's D.C. bureau before she was deleted in the paper's recent wave of layoffs & buyouts, has landed a new job as White House correspondent for The Washington D.C. Examiner, reports Fishbow DC.

The D.C. Examiner is a free tabloid started in 2005 by Phillip Anschultz, a politically conservative, Christian billionaire -- which we guess means Julie won't be "blogging" per se for The Examiner like she did for the Chron, since conservative Chron readers in Houston complained about some of her snarkier blog posts on Bush and the whole mess he's made of the last 8 years.

Anyway, she sounds happy about her new job, knowledgeable inside sources indicate.

And we want everybody to be happy. All the time.

By the way, Julie says she's be replacing Bill Sammons, who left to be on the Fox News Channel.
