Ron Paul

We read a column by David Broder, the Washington Post columnist, in which he made a passing reference to US Rep. Ron Paul, calling him "semi-eccentric."

Frankly, we think you could refer to any of the U.S. presidents as "semi-eccentric," if you accept the definition of eccentric as "deviating from the recognized or customary character, practice, etc.," which is the first definition offered by dictionary.com.

The definition goes on to say eccentric can mean irregular; erratic; peculiar; odd.

Seems to us that Paul is quite irregular since he bases all his views on the U.S. Constitution, and it's hard to say that about most of the people running for the presidency.

But that's all we're gonna say about that. We just wanted an excuse to post the above photo, sent to us by a reader in Oklahoma, where we've got kinfolk, who happened upon a Ron Paul "tailgating" tent at last week's OU-Utah State football game in Norman.

There were students under the tent who are part of the Ron Paul student group on campus, which supposedly numbers 47. There weren't any other presidential tailgating tents outside the stadium, we're told.

So I guess that's semi-eccentric, too.

Or irregular.

GOOD JOB!

This is what you do: hunt down those events and set up that tent wherever you can find thousands of people. I hope you gave out a lot of literature.

As for eccentric, no one could be weirder than David Broder!

As Dr. Ron Paul states: The freedom message unites us.

There are many ages, parties, backgrounds, etc. that have come together to support the one statesman that actually follows his oath of office.
