"Hand Models" really do exist?

"Seinfeld" fans will recall the episode where George lands a job as a hand model.

Not sure why this surprises me. Wait a minute, yeah I do. Anyway, HAND MODELS REALLY DO EXIST, according to this story in the real estate section of the LA Times concerning one Rick Wagner, whose work as a hand model is so well known that the recent listing of his home merited a mention in the "Hot Property" section ...

Wagner has been the on-camera hands for John Travolta, Dennis Quaid, Sting, Ryan Seacrest, Tim Allen and Jeff Goldblum, to name a few. He has worked on hundreds of commercials, print ads and feature films. His hand held Ellen DeGeneres' for the Academy Awards this year.

He is working on the documentary "A Day in the Life of a World Famous Hand Model" and said people recognize his hands before they recognize the rest of him.

Could this possibly be one of those fake news items that misakenly get planted in the newspaper by a bored copy editor who intended it only for the late-night page proof sheets (and eyes of his bored colleagues)?

If not, there may be fame & fortune waiting out in Hollywood for some of you rednecks, so ask a loved one to give you his or her honest opinion about your ... uh ... hands.
