Just a spoonful of water makes the arsenic go down

Here's another reason to just bulldoze the Village of Surfside beach and start over.

The sad sack city is poisoning its residents with arsenic in the burgh's drinking water.

Shut 'er down, fellers. Make it into a huge RV Park/surfin/wade fishin haven.

The highlights:

...the village’s water might not be safe to drink on a long-term basis....

An acceptable arsenic level is .010 milligrams per liter or less...Surfside water — which comes from wells — recently averaged .013 milligrams per liter...

...(people) could experience skin damage or problems with their circulatory system, and may have an increased risk of getting cancer...

...Water drawn for bathing has a “pea green” color...

Surfside is lookin into a long-term plan to get its drinking water from recycled water that is disposed of by a nearby liqufied natural gas plant.

Bon appetit!

I knew there was a reason for that fonky taste in the tap water out there.

I'm not sure - is Surfside on a city sewage treatment system, or individual septic systems?

It seems like the houses are a maybe just a little too close together for doodey lines in the beach sand.
