Bob Dylan plays golf

This bit of news could shatter all kinds of stereotypes about golf, especially among the enviro lefty cognoscenti.

But Bob Dylan plays golf.

(The prolific Houston blogger Tom Kirkendall has the details.)

No longer will I feel elitist when I hit the links, despite the persistent myth that golfers are, well, elitist jackasses who not only poison the environment with their greens-keeping chemical fertilizers but dress garishly and drink too much.

What do you figure Bob hums when he hits a duck hook?

I'd vote for "Tangled Up In Blue."

As the bard himself so eloquently put it:

I'm gonna grow my hair down to my feet so strange
So I look like a walking mountain range
And I'm gonna ride into Omaha on a horse
Out to the country club and the golf course.
Carry the New York Times, shoot a few holes, blow their minds.
