Ted Poe: terrorists are gaining weight!

Just back from Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Republican US Rep. Ted Poe tells the Baytown Sun he saw "not even a smidge" of ill treatment toward the 520 or so terrorist detainees.

And if anyone knows ill treatment, it's former judge Poe, who used to dream up kooky punishments for convicted felons who'd have to stand on street corners holding signs announcing their various character defects.

What's more, since he used to be a judge, Poe said there's now way anyone could have duped him during his inspection.

“I didn’t fall off a tomato truck yesterday.”

Speaking of tomatoes, Poe ate the same Gitmo grub the detainees did and declared it to be "good" -- so good the average suspected terrorist gains 10 pounds!

Hell, you don't have to go to Gitmo to find prisoners gaining weight. Remember Henry Lee Lucas?? He was a scrawny, 100 lb drifter when he was first arrested. Last time I saw a picture of him in his prison whites, I think he at least doubled his body weight. Food must be pretty good up at the Walls or at least a whole helluva lot of it.

Yes but he's now referred to as "former drifter"

I heard that the waiters in the Khmer Rouge camps offered their guests cracked black pepper with every meal, so food quantity is not the be-all and end-all.
