John Lennon's "Lucy" -- gone

The little girl who inspired John Lennon to write "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" has passed away from breast cancer, says Bill Crider, a novelist/blogger who is known in Brazoria County as The Bard of Alvin.
Lucy Richardson, 47, was a successful movie art director.

Bard? Are you sure?

You're the closest thing to a poet that Alvin's got, Bill. As far as I know.

I think the real Bard of Alvin is Gilbert Benton, whose "Don't Let Grandma Drive the Car" is a true classic.

I don't know Gilbert's work, Bill, but if you vouch for him, that's good enough for me.
