What about Uncle Duke?

Hunter Thompson's dead. What should happen to the Gary Trudeau cartoon character based on him? I'd like to see him continue.

Charlie Madigan, "The Rambling Gleaner" columnist in the Chicago Tribune, notes:

The Duke character, if you follow the strip, has been governor of American Samoa, Ambassador to China, a laetrile farmer, GM of the Washington Redskins, lobbyist for the National Rifle Association, a Universal Petroleum worker in Iran, a hostage, a drug smuggler in Florida, a sightseer in the Falkland Islands during the war, head of the Baby Doc College of Offshore Medicine in Haiti, a zombi, owner of a condom company. On and on it goes. He was also viceroy in waiting in Iraq.

Madigan wants to know what you'd do with the character.

Save Uncle Duke, says I.
