The Sgt. Schultz defense: `I know nothing!'

A jury refused to convict Walter A. Forbes despite clear evidence of rampant accounting fraud, leading to speculation that Enron bigwigs Ken Lay and Jeffrey Skilling will invoke what we like to call the Sgt. Schultz defense. Schultz, the rotund Nazi prison camp guard, said repeatedly to Col. Klink on the old "Hogan's Heroes" TV show: "I know nothing, NOTHING!" whenever Klink figured some skulduggery was afoot with his lovably mischievious POWs. (Which is kinda what a lotta of Nazis said at Nuremberg.) Anyway, it worked for Schultz and it seemed to work for Forbes.
