Free tab targets The Washington Post; Texas monopolies on target list

I mean, Newspaper War!
Conservative Billionaire Philip Anschutz is about to launch his free newspaper in the Washington D.C. market, taking on The Washington Post, which one of his lieutenants describes as "hard to read," which means "the stories are too long."

If the concept is successful in the nation’s capital, will it jump to other cities? Says Jim McDonald, “I hope so.”

Houston, along with all the other major one-newspaper cities in Texas, are on the Anchutz hit list to trademark "The Examiner" name.
