Apparently, sportwriters based in Texas changed their votes to put the University of Texas over the top and into a BCS bowl. In this case, the Rose Bowl, the "grandaddy of 'em all."

Did the Texas scribes succumb to UT Coach Mack Brown's public lobbying?

Were they worried about flack from their readers?

Does this open another media ethics can 'o worms?

Does anyone REALLY care since the teams at issue (UT & Cal) weren't going to be playing for the National Championship anyway?
