Dow breaks rules, boo, hiss
Brazosport's raison d'ĂȘtre has run afoul of state enviro regulations by failing to meet the regulatory limits of 100 parts per million for stack gas concentration of carbon monoxide and violating its hazardous waste permit's special conditions by failing to maintain a functioning waste fee cutoff system.
We have no idea what that means, but it's serious enough for the state to penalize the company $51,600 (less $20,640 that will be applied to the Houston-Galveston AERCO's Clean Cities/Clean Vehicles Program.)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Bo Diddley, a founding father of rock 'n' roll whose distinctive "shave and a haircut, two bits" rhythm and innovative guitar effects inspired legions of other musicians, died Monday after months of ill health. He was 79. Diddley died of heart failure at his home in Archer, Fla., spokeswoman Susan Clary said. He had suffered a heart attack in August, three months after suffering a stroke while touring in Iowa. Doctors said the stroke affected his ability to speak, and he had returned to Florida to continue rehabilitation.
