Jenna Bush shows foresight with engagement news
We offer our congratulations to Jenna Bush, daughter of the president, on the announcment that she is engaged to be married.
Holy matrimony is a sacred institution and should not be undertaken lightly.
For that reason, and others, we feel Ms. Bush has displayed wisdom beyond her years in getting her initial marriage underway while she still is a young woman.
Far too often, today's young women express the desire to "make sure he's the right one" before accepting a marriage proposal, then find themselves fast approaching 30 before walking down the aisle. This places them precariously close to 40 by the time their first marriage ends.
By marrying young (frankly, we had hoped for a White House wedding during the first four-year term), Ms. Bush is assured of getting her first marriage out of the way at a relatively young age, thus preserving her peak sexual (not to mention child bearing) years for future suitors and her eventual second, or third, mate.
Ms. Bush's detractors among the liberal left no doubt will be chagrined at today's joyous announcement as the decision shows a maturity level thought unattainable by the president's daughter. Congratulations, Jenna!!!
