Fun with Wikiscanner
The new deal called Wikiscanner enables you to look up IP addresses to see if anyone from your local Fortune 500 Company, or maybe your local taxpayer-funded entity, is tap-tap-tapping on the computer to contribute to Wikipedia, the "free Encyclopedia" on the Internet that is written and edited, to one degree or another, by Average and Above-Average rednecks like the people who read this "blog."
So we did some checking on the Wikiscanner to see what locals might be contributing to the Wikipedia, and it turns out someone employed by Your County Government has made a number of entries into the online book 'o knowledge using a taxpayer-funded computer (or at least a taxpayer-funded IP address.)
The Brazoria County Wiki writer has made 37 edits on a variety of topics.
Let's pick one at the top of the list -- SpongeBob Squarepants, a cartoon character -- to see what bits o' wisdom a public servant is imparting to the world.
OK, Brazoria County went into the SpongeBob entry on Wikipedia to change the loveable cartoon character's name to ... oh dear ... "penis muncher."
In a second entry, Brazoria County wrote, "I hate the show."
Let's move on.
Here's an edit to the Wikipedia entry on "crap."
Brazoria County noted that a derivative word of crap is "crapalicious," which he defined as, "a saying when you eat crap."
Well.
Isn't that special?
Needless to say, these "edits" didn't last long on the Wikipedia.
The rest of them, for the most part, are considerable less ribald, which is disappointing, seeing's how they're taxpayer funded, sort of.

For some of the county boys, and that includes female employees of the county, that is a far more productive use of their time than what they are supposed to be doing.

Bwaaaaahaahaaa!
Too bad they didn't leave any political comments... now that would be fun to watch unravel. Banjo could get his well-deserved 15 minutes of fame for breaking the story. Maybe even get on the O'Reilly show.
-D, A proud above-average redneck!
