Life after the Dallas Morning News

Columbia Journalism Review did a take-out (journalism slang for lengthy story) on the Dallas Morning News in the wake of its massive staff layoffs.

Most of the worker bees who took the paper up on its buyout offers seem to be a lot happier than they were toiling for the newspaper, even the ones who stayed in the jornalism game, the magazine reported.

But none may be happier than Michael Precker, a former feature writer.

He's now the day manager at The Lodge.
