Ron Paul & The Daily Show

We forgot to mention the other day that Ron Paul, our Favorite Son candidate for president, appeared on The Daily Show earlier this week, but Tom at Houston's Clear Thinkers noted it HERE if you want to watch the YouTube clip.

Seeing the congressman on The Daily Show made us think we must be sorta like the young people who supposedly get their "news" as much from the Comedy Central network as from traditional sources. Why? Cause we completely forgot about the last Republican debate until we saw the Daily Show featuring Rep. Paul.

We tuned in, late, to the debate and caught a few snippets of Congressman Paul, then figured, well, we'll read one of the news stories later to see what else he might have said that was deemed noteworthy.

So later that night, after the debate, we read a New York Times account of the big debate. It didn't even mention our favorite Grumpy Gynecologist. Not a word. But it did mention Fred Thompson. And he wasn't even in the debate.

Is it any wonder people look to The Daily Show for their news these days?

Gatekeepers indeed.
