God bless the child (and maybe even Imus)

I was on a long road trip through the Texas Panhandle recently, going through a stretch where the radio fare was pretty bleak, when I popped in a disc that contained the old Blood, Sweat & Tears rendition of "God Bless the Child."

There's the line in the song that goes:

And when you got money,
You got lots of friends,
Huddlin' round your door,

But when the money's gone,
And all the spendin' ends,
They won't be around anymore ... oh no.

Which made me think of Ol' Scrotum Face Imus. A few days later (which would be today) I came across this story about all of the good personal friends of the I-Man.

If nothing else, they should have gone on the Imus show to tell him he was a real dumb ass for sayin what he said, and then said they forgave him. That'd be the Christian thing to do, allegedly.
