Polluter of the week

Our own Dow Chemical Co. wins this week's award.

Under an agreed order with the State of Texas, Dow get to cough up $87,192, which forunately for it is "offset" by $43,596 applied to the Houston-Galveston AERCO's Clean Cities/Clean Vehicle's Program (whatever the hell that is; we'll get back to you later on it.)

Anyway, Dow got called on the carpet for failing to prevent unauthorized emissions, failing to submit an emissions event report, failing to include the applicable permit number in the authorization section of the fina emissions event report and for "being smug." (we made the last part up)

Congratulations to Dow for winning this week's Polluter of the Week plaque.
