Bob Dylan is 65; how old are YOU?

His new album, "Modern Times," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, the first time that's happened since 1976, when "Desire" came out, reports Reuters.

His set list on Tuesday night included these faves of ours: "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere," "Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum," "Girl From the North Country," "Masters of War," "Tangled Up In Blue," "Highway 61 Revisited" and "My Back Pages," reports Expecting Rain.

Geezers rule.

Oh, I thought at first you meant today was his birthady. (I happen to know that he was born on May 24, because a good friend of mine celebrates his birthday every year by getting a bottle of good brandy and getting drunk with her husband.)

Bob Dylan is so passe it's crazy to think of him as anything but a hasbeen. His early work was stunning, but he fucked-up when he went electric. He's like Garfunkle: Old and a bare shadow od his once-bright self. We have a silly habit of canonizing our scarred lions in this country. Dylan is Willie is Lenny Bruce is B.B. King is Lennon...their songs rang like hellfire. Once, and that was yesterday's song. Get over it Banjo. You're showing your History Channel stripes, son.

Upon hearing the news, the master exhales a thick cloud of cigarette smoke and allows himself a brief smile. Then he walks on stage again.
