Mario Williams: don't expect much

If you watched the Texans-Broncos exhibition game last night on the NFL Network, you heard analyst Sterling Sharpe, a former player, say not to expect a lot of quarterback sacks out of No. 1 draft pick Mario Williams. Instead, he'll defend against the run just fine and be a solid cog in the defensive scheme, but he won't be a marauder like Texans fans may have expected, even though Houston passed up Reggie Bush to draft him. Nothing like diminished expectations before the season starts to get the fans fired up, right?

If you're hanging your life on a Mario Williams...then you ain't got much of a life, son. Gotta get back to the cheap, rot-gut whiskey, Banjo. That's when you write your best stuff. Leave the Big Time sports for Big Time writers...Mario Williams? Sheeeeeeeee-it, the cat ain't half a loaf.
