B'port girl gets Big City blog

The above picture is of Hopper Field in Freeport, where the two high schools down here play football. It's named after the grandpa of Leigh Hopper, who's now writing a brand new medically related blog for the Houston daily that made its debut this morning. She was a cheerleader for Brazoswood High back in the day. Now she wants you to send her emails about your medical experiences. Could be fashinating, if the audience participates. Now's your chance to vent about those high falutin' guys in white coats who make you wait for two hours with only 2-year-old copies of AARP Monthly and Good Housekeeping to read before you're granted access to the inner medical sanctum. I think this makes, like, two dozen people writing blogs for the Houston paper now. Looks like the radical electronic medium is here to say, I mean to tell ya.

I like her post about the Canadian Medical Journal which says you can improve the health and behaviour of Canadian drunks by "giving homeless alcoholics a regular supply of booze...." :

And the one about the Harvard doctors who are doing a stress study on Katrina refugees in Houston:

One thing the docs from Fair Harvard want to know is "...what kind of medication they're taking ...."

Boy, are these Harvard guys in for a shock!!

Thank you, Banjo, for the kind remarks. I must correct the record on one point, however. I wasn't a cheerleader -- I was a "Buccaneer Belle." As such, I was one of about 60 girls who wore baby-blue "pirate" uniforms with short white boots. And a white hat with a long blue ostrich feather. It's all been downhill from there.

Leigh, trying to imagine you in a baby blue pirate outfit is not helping my BP.... =D
