2 readers emailed regarding our new poll on who'll win the Super Bowl. We realized the choices offered would elicit strong feelings. Here's the first letter from Cory Terrell:

Mr. Jones,

For the love of all things stainless, I ask you: where is the love for
the Pittsburgh Steelers?

The 2nd letter came from Anne Linehan of BlogHouston.net fame:

you left off the 49ers. Surely that was an oversight -- I'm sure this will be their year to get back in the game, so to speak.

Regarding the Steelers, never underestimate the power of the sophomore jinx as it may apply to QB Ben Rothliesberger. Also, the frustrating years of the Luv Ya Blue era, when the Oilers couldn't get past the Steelers to the Super Bowl, still hurt, a lot....As for the 49ers, it's good to see fans stay true blue to their team, even when they've fallen on hard times. I think new linebackers coach Mike Singletary will have a positive effect on the team, given his motivational speaking skills. I know I would do whatever he said, no questions asked.
