Son Volt to visit Dave

After a 7-year sabattical which he spent watching his kids grow up, Jay Farrar (see picture taken last May at SXSW) and his band, Son Volt, take the stage tonight on David Letterman to unwrap their new CD.
I'm late to Son Volt, but reading what Farrar has said in past interviews about Dylan, Townes Van Zandt and Woody Guthrie, it's admirable the St. Louis-based musician appreciates his forbears, and Kevin at PubliusTx gives the new CD his seal of approval. You've got to hand it to the Letterman show (which, by the way, is currently leading the current Banjo Mini's Poll) for the musical guests it puts on TV. The Eels were on Dave's show a couple or three weeks ago. Nice.
