Ken Lay Speaks

Ken Lay has given six hours worth of interviews to the New York Times, asserting that his close ties to the Bush family likely will work against him now that he's widely viewed as a crook.

"... it's probably a tougher decision not to indict me than to indict me," says Lay, referencing his Bush connection.

The story sheds light on why it's taken so long for the government to do anything with Lay, while other Enron bigwigs have been indicted or already have pleaded guilty. Lay blames Andy Fastow for the Enron debacle.
