Man Shoots Dad



A 40-year-old Brazoria man who shot his father three times has been charged with attempted murder, authorities said Tuesday.
Franklin Wade Estes is behind held in lieu of $100,000 bond at the Brazoria County lockup.
Estes shot his 63-year-old father Robert after becoming angry during a discussion of past family problems, a sheriff's official said.
The shooting occurred at the home of the suspect's father on King's Court about 5 p.m. on Monday.
Deputies said they found the suspect standing over his father holding a gun.
The elder Estes was shot three times in "the lower extremities" with a .38 caliber handgun and was taken by ambulance to a Lake Jackson hospital, authorities said.
The victmi's son was charged with attempted murder.
